A Fabulous 50's, Swank 60's Christmas Musical 11/23/12

Thank you NIPSCO for sponsoring this wonderful, enjoyable, very seasonal musical.  I loved every minute of it . . . my face still hurts from smiling for so long.

I never do research.  Mostly because of time.  However, now I am finding it beneficial.  I can photograph a musical or play and not feel biased.

These six ladies made this musical so adorable, heart felt, warming, that you could not walk away without a good holiday cheer.  If I had any kind of musical voice, I would have broken out in song with them.

Let me introduce you to the cast:

Rebecca Bradford

Megan DeLay

Sara Jean Mergener

Carol Rose

Leslie Allison Smith

Leslie Spitznagel

I fell in love with each of these ladies.  They pulled me into their heart with voice . . . musical and emotional.  I would give each one of them a kiss, if I thought I could get away with it :)

Okay, enough romance (that is what the musical does to you, so bring your significant other). Lets get down to some photos for you to enjoy . . . oh, no spoiler alert. These photos are definitely no substitute for the performance. You are only getting a fraction of the experience here.

What was interesting were the commercials of the times, being reenacted for us. I do remember some of these, so it brought back some fun, fond memories.

Commercial time, and this is how I do remember them.  Gestures and all . . .

Commercial time . . .

Commercial time . . .

These times (the 50's and 60's) were when products took advantage of stereotypes, as in the above photos and the next, picturing two house wives drinking the sponsors coffee, gossiping . . .

The cast was great individually and as teams, however, this next set of photos they really came together as a group.

Back when is was looked upon as cool, for women to smoke . . .

As always, it is a joy to go to the Towle Theater to see a play or musical. I do encourage you, if you have not yet done so, to go at least once. This musical is just the thing to get you into the holiday spirit.
