I first saw Dawn Arnold Diamantopoulos' art during the Hammond Art Tour earlier this summer, at Substation 9. She is reactivating her art, and with a bang. The exhibit at the Hammond Art Center (HAC) is one more step for her, and an impressive one for us to enjoy.
Northwest Indiana is growing in the arts. There is so much to enjoy. As I go into Chicago to photograph the arts, I keep coming home smiling, knowing our region is heading in the right direction. Hammond is becoming a Voice for artists, one that is versatile in acting, drawing, music, painting, sculpting. I do envision people from Chicago coming to us sometime in our future.
Dawn is now one of our own. Channeling her energy onto canvas, so that we can wake up to that energy every time we get up and look at the wall. Okay, so you need to buy one of her paintings to do that. Not a bad deal . . .
To know more about Dawn, please click here. Go check out her work at HAC, and the many other areas that exhibit art in NW Indiana like Paul Henry's Art Gallery.
