Paul Henry's Art Gallery 2/13/13

Okay, if you are not familiar with Paul Henry's Art Gallery and the month of February, perhaps the title of the post will need some explaining. Every Thursday night Paul Henry's has an open mic night. A JAM with local musicians. An acoustical night, where the only think plugged in are the light bulbs and the coffee. (Okay, perhaps the crock pots of food too.)

For February a tradition has started. A Valentines Eve chocolate pie tradition. Bring a home made chocolate pie, you get in free. The pies are judged, awards given . . . along with the chocolate pies being devoured with next day tummy aches.

It has been just over a year since my first time at Paul Henry's. It is an experience, a joy, a family environment,  a place to meet new friends and to catch up with the ones you already made there. It is that simple . . . an experience. Restaurants, fancy bars, clothing stores, all want to sell you an experience. Here, at Paul Henry's, we make the experience. It is for us to participate, partake, pat ourselves on the back, and prove NW Indiana has talent.

Here are some photos of the evening. I hope you will enjoy them.

Paul Henry's is a place for artists of all kind to meet the public on a weekly basis. On Thursday night open mic (acoustic - no electric) musicians are not expected to be perfect. On the contrary. Musicians, poets, you name it, come to try out their new material in front of an audience for the first time. It can be raw, and it can be very exciting. This is their training ground, and their showcase, depending upon their need.

Lots of art rotates through Paul Henry's. NW Indiana is dripping with talent, and Paul Henry's is there to showcase it. All are welcome.
