As American as apple pie. The Towle Theater's annual Christmas production is just that. As American as apple pie. This is now my 3rd year photographing this event. It is a "must see" for the holidays.
Compared to today, the 50's seem so simple. I remember families singing holiday music, gathering around the fire place, watching holiday specials on television together. This production of A Fabulous 50's Christmas brings back those fond memories. I am not sure how those brought up after the 50's can relate. They may look at the dress, the music, the commercials, how we looked at life back then as funny. Realize, this was the marketing back then. Pretty direct. I think marketing today would be fearful of that approach.
As always the cast is great! They do a fantastic job portraying the vibe of the 50's. A focus on simple pleasures, simple relationships with respectful rules. I took away a message from this musical. One that I felt, inside. (Not that you would feel the same.) That message being, to be honest and kind to the other person is the best thing you can do.
