WE WANT ONE! Oh wow, what a beautiful event of vintage campers. It reminded me a lot of when my family went camping at EAA when I was young. The vintage campers have not only been maintained to look the period, most of them are also modernized with some creature features of today.
At their time, having a camper was like living higher in the middle class society. A way to separate yourself from your neighbor. An uppity up or keeping up with the Jone’s sort of thing. A time for family to be a family doing a family thing. Something that perhaps dad looked forward to, but not necessarily anyone else! For me, it was a simpler and enjoyable time in life. These campers brought back that memory.
If I were to do it today, I would do it like these people. Fix it up, modernize it with the creature features of home, and go have fun with it. Take the back roads and travel America (mostly because you dare not take the highway with these old puppies.)
Here are some photos for you to enjoy!
