Nunsense A-Men!

"I want to knock on the door and ask if the Nuns can come out and play!"
Wes Bushby

I am not Catholic, so I have not experienced Catholic schools, let alone Nuns. I did have a short stint in healthcare where I worked with the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration. Very business like and I enjoyed the experience. If Nuns were like this comedy musical, I think I would become a Catholic!

"Nunsense A-Men" is like the original "Nunsense", with the exception of all the characters are being played by men . . . yes you read this right. All men! My oh my does this crank up the laughter rating a bit.

Your cast:

Reverend Mother Sister Mary Regina - Allen Horner

Sister Mary Hubert - John Buranosky

Sister Robert Anne - Tom Farley

Sister Mary Leo - Colin Funk

Sister Mary Amnesia - Kevin Bellamy

Father Elizabeth - Elizabeth Tuazon (cameo appearance)

"South Pacific" production? No. Though this is a great school stage for the Nuns to put on their own variety show in order to raise money . . . so they can bury 4 remaining Sisters (out of the 52, who suddenly passed away by . . . well you will find out when you see the comedy musical).  Enjoy the photos!!!

This cameo appearance of Elizabeth Tuazon as Father Elizabeth caused a flashback for me, to the musical "Pope Joan" that I saw in Chicago many years ago. That made me go hmm . . .

I believe it was this part where I had another very favorable flash back of Kevin, to my first visit to photograph at the Towle Theater. It was for the musical "Ordinary Days". Kevin's effort in this comedy musical of Nunsense A-Men touched the very fond memory and performance of his in Ordinary Days. Thank you Kevin! Now looking back at all of my photography either at or for the Towle Theater, I have 34 blog posts since February of 2012.  It does not seem that long at all. I think it is because theater is nothing like ordinary. It is refreshing. I am very happy at this time of my life, to have found that attraction to theater and to understand why. I can only think that is part of what attracts performers as well.
