Adapted from the 1947 Lux Radio Broadcast
By Lance Arthur Smith
Original songs and arrangements by Jon Lorenz
"Miracle on 34th Street - A Live Musical Play" takes us back to that era. You are on the set of the radio station with the actors, ready to see "Miracle on 34th Street" broadcast over the radio. You are cued for applause. You are entertained. If you could not be on set as most Americans were not, you listened on the radio broadcast from the comfort of your family room.
This musical play was wonderful. To see and listen to the actors play several characters by changing expression and voice is a remarkable experience. There talent and dress to time travel us back to then was perfect. This felt just like it was in played in 1947. Do not let the scripts in their hands full you either. There is a lot going on in this production that requires each actor to be an actor. I also need to say, I felt like I was watching the television show at times as well.
